What kind of modding are you talking about exactly?

I think he's asking what you want to do. Only hardware mods I know of are dropping in a larger battery. But thats more of just cutting the case and putting the right pigtail connector on.

I've thought about investigating hdmi out.

If you have a PS Vita 1011 (3G OLED) there is a board available to replace the 3G module with a Micro SD. The 3G uses a modified USB protocol, you have to have version 3.60 FW to be able to enable the driver to use it. There is an archive of hardware documentation available online. You can search google for "Josh Axey PS Vita - Hardware" or download from my Mega account here--> Josh Axey Archive and High Rez PCB Layers.

Recently there was a leak related to the Cobra Blackfin (piracy device) the leaker is dropping 4 years of research along with 33,000 lines of source code. The second installment became available on friday. I believe there is 180 Gb of doc's I haven't looked at bit yet as I havent had time so I can't comment on the contents but it is safe to assume there is lots of hardware documentation.

Edit: I hadn't looked at these in a while but I was checking for if there was a license included just now and I saw that Josh made them available on his github repo although that's not how I got them. That's definitely a better link than my random Mega account.
