    Hey Guys,

I bought a debug PS1 which has an external PSU but it wasn't included in the sale so where can I find another PSU? Is it the same as the one that comes with the PSOne? I've also heard that it's the same as some Sony laptop chargers or should I just get a standard grey PS1 and pull the PSU out of that and put it in the debug kit?

    Thanks in advance guys!

Okay thanks man, I'll probably buy one from that eBay listing.

That particular PSU is for the DTL-H20400 (PS2 external Hard Disk Drive) so I'm not sure if the connector is compatible.

You can replace the PSU with one from a standard PS1, although I believe there were two types used by the retails so you have to make sure you get the right one.

However I can sell you one of the official external power supplies tested with a debug PS1 if you're interested.

l_olivera was right again. I can tell I'm getting old.

I did try the DTL-H10020AC adapter with a DTL-H1100 Debug PS1 and it functioned correctly including reading CDs. The only important difference is the amperage. The correct adapter for the PS1 should output 1.0A instead of the 1.5A for the PS2 external hard drive.

And the correct model number for the PS1 power supply is ZA12001GN. Never would have guess that unless I actually seen it myself.

My recommendation of that one in a previous thread was based on some close up photos of the connectors, which are fairly distinctive due to their odd profile. He probably noticed that too.

Voltage should always be equal though within 10% either way is usually safe. Amperage must be equal or higher.

l_oliveira and Keberasky are quite right about the power supply. I have one for my DTL- external PS2 HDD, and another i used for a debug PS1.. It worked fine, booting games etc with lengthy gaming sessions with no ill effects.. The advantage of the DTL-H10020AC Adapter over the non-development version is that it accepts voltages from 100-240 volts, unlike the Japanese only fixed cable 100 volt version.
