Does anybody know what the difference is between Gameshark v2 and v3? Is one more reliable or better than the other. Both look different. I believe v2 is grey and smaller, but v3 is colored black. Both go in the PS1 parallel port.

Gameshark V2 required the use of an additional hardware (ISA/PCI card) called Pro Comms Link (if I remember correctly); it cannot be connected directly to a regular parallel port (well, it can, but won't work and may damage the Gameshark, the parallel port or both).
Gameshark V3 can be connected directly to a regular Parallel port. Additionally this connection can be used to search for new codes.

So with Gameshark V3 I can load gameshark codes already saved in the module and add additional codes?

I would have to double-check the manuals and some old notes I have somewhere, but this is what I remember (may not be 100% accurate):
-V2: Parallel port required use of PC Comms Link card. Could be used to do firmware upgrade and/or add new codes via PC.
-V3: Connects directly to PC Parallel port (no PC Comms Link card needed). Can be used to do firmware upgrade, add new codes, create/generate/search for new codes and maybe some other feature I'm missing.

If you have to choose, I'd say go with v3 whenever possible.
