ps1 laser lens extension cable in uk?

i was wondering if anyone knows where to purchase a lasers lens extension cable in the uk? i decided to change out my old broke laser from my phat ps1 with a laser from a broken psone but the problem is the ribbon is too short. i have seen these extensions for sale overseas but i was hoping to get one from the uk for quick delivery.
any help would be great guys

 

You can buy any generic cable online as long as you have the number of pins and the width between the pins. For example the wii drive is a 32pin .5mm ribbon cable and I bought a generic ribbon that matches those specs.

 

That's not correct, there is no end on the laser side that is removable. The extension needs one end with a male connection and female at the other.

 

thanks for the replies guys. i got it sorted now anyhow. my brother ordered one for me from richspsxparts ebay store. i know it's from the usa and will take a little longer to arrive but i could not find anywhere in the uk selling them. looking forward to playing my old phat ps1 with a bsm-400bam laser. hopefully then my old phat ps1 will run as nice as my slim psone model until the psio device finally hits the market.

 

If you were careful and had the dexterity, couldn't you splice the middle yourself? I recall a video where someone did a Nintoaster tutorial where they used ribbon cables in a few places and just cut and split them where needed to make contacts.

 

I'm pretty sure you could get a generic extension cable instead of one labeled as for ps1. That's more what I was getting at.

 

They dont really do general extension cables for this type of thing.

The wii you can disconnect at both ends and use a standard generic cable. For the PS1 this doesnt exist and isnt an option.

 

FFC/FPC cables and solder to them? best of luck. While possible, its almost certain you will ruin it and need to replace the laser.

 

are the ones from aliexpress from seller zuiyueyin good, anybody knows? dont know if i can trust aliexpress as i heard they steal credit card info. do they accept paypal?
