    Hello,

So, after I chipped my SCPH-1001 I swapped out the original laser assembly for a BAM assembly as recommended by a couple of people. Then I adjusted it using this guide, but now it won't recognize any audio CDs, it takes a very long time to boot any burnt discs and after a burnt game finally boots, it has all sorts of errors like audio or videos not playing properly or at all. It still plays American and Japanese original discs without problem.

Is there anything else I need to do with my system to get burnt games running properly? Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    coolthx

It's a MM2 chip. I don't really think the chip would cause the problems I'm having though.

Before I swapped the laser assemblies my system was able to read the burnt discs better than it does now (but still with some audio/ video problems.)

Can you test the bam laser on another consolle?
Try with ribbon trimmer adjust ;)

Can't you just get a china replacement?
    There about £9.

The BAM assembly that I'm trying to get working is a new Chinese-made replacement.

After screwing around with it a bit more I'm pretty convinced that it's defective, since I can't get anything to work properly on it other than retail PS1 games. I'll probably just switch back to the original laser assembly until I can get a good replacement for it.
