PS1 PAL Limited Edition stuff

Folks,
I uploaded some more PlayStation 1 PAL limited editions on www.mintinthebox.info .
feel free to take a visit. there are many editions still missing from my collection but they will be added when time permits.

I'm also very close to finish a complete PS1 PAL collection (~1520 games) so keep your fingers crossed that I may reach this goal still in 2005.

 

I'm really pleased to see someone who collects PS1 PAL games. I only know people with a japanese collection.

But I couldn't find a photo of your 1.520 PlayStation games I'd like to see it, because I have a big PAL collection, too. sorry, I have to say 'small' now, because I own only 100 games.

 

Some nice stuff there but maybe you should think about changing your sites design. The top banner bar is way too big making it hard to see the game pictures in full.

If you want to see the site properly click on any of the games, scroll down and then select the "back to main page" button to open in a new window and you can see them properly.

Other than that, nice collection I hardly remember any of the pal stuff. The last time I went into a game shop outside of Japan was (apart from to play the 360) over 2/3 years ago. So all those pal limited editions have passed me by. One pal ltd edition I did like was the puchi carrot with controller set. Don't think you even got that in Japan.

yeah, the Puchi Carat edition featuring the special controller is great - are you sure it didn't get a japanese release?

 

Well you can get puchi carat and the controller on their own respectively. However I'm pretty sure there was never a boxed set like pal got. I think the special controller is called the "volume controller" in Japan and is quite common.

 

Yeah, I'm also happy to find some fellow PAL collectors. I'm not yet in the realm of trying to obtain *every* game (I certainly CAN NOT justify buying all that Fifa and licensed crap), but just some of the rare ones.

And Ataribuff, how do I view the PS1 PAL rarity guide on DP? All I've seen is the "online rarity guide" with its search system, but no loose PDF files or anything.

 

The PS1 PAL rarity guide is only available online at the moment. There also is a printed guide but that has only the U.S. games included - the PDFs were canned some time ago. We section editors have a excel database to work with but thats strictly private of course.
If you have some questions concerning rarity just ask. Maybe I can be of help ;-)

To view all online games just mark "PlayStation" and "Non U.S.Game Releases" and tick the PAL checkbox (there is some error at the moment which also shows you the (few) japanese releases).

 

Where are people seeing the games? I only see a few special limited edition stuff.

 

And what are the 50 wanted games? You can at least tell us.

I'm now only missing 13 PlayStation 1 PAL releases (out of 1458) and to avoid "confusion" at eBay I surely will not list them now. Thanks for understanding.

 

AtariBuff: I just had a look at the rarity list, and are Baby Universe, Blast Chamber and BLAM! Machinehead really that rare? I have the former and i'm sure i've seen BLAM & Blast Chamber a few times, too.

 

What does that mean? People could help search if they knew which ones you need. BTW, are you getting all versions like an Autralian version and a German version as well as the UK version?

FYI, I see two titles not on your list. I wonder if those two are on your 13.

 

well, a "4" or "5" is not that rare but Baby Universe for example had a very limited release.

 

first i go for one version of each game but for many of them games I already have more versions (Sesame Street, Sonic Wings,...).

 

True, but then no PAL game in the list seems to have a rarity over 5... which is a bit odd, innit?

 

not yet as we just started with evaluating rarity. Nearly all games for the PS1 are easy to get as of now but that will change in the foreseeable future.

 

well, some of the newer games are a b*tch to get imho. looks like you update the site for one of the two i thought of.

I have some stuff that isnt on your site, some different demo 1 cd's, one of them came in a PSX jewel case and a rental version of NHL97
