So, I have one PS2 slim unit with freemcboot on a memory card and I want to boot a PS1 backup from a game that I own and don't want to use the actual cd. PS2 is a pal console, PS1 game is a us copy. From what I have found, I can use ulauncher with disc control enabled. I load an original game, go to ulauncher, stop the disk and switch with my backup, launch PS2Browser, play the game. I have seen some videos that this trick works but after reading a little more, the original game must be same region with the backup one. So I made a copy of a second game that I have, poped in the PS2 the first game (original cd), stop it with ulauncher, switched with the backup one and the game booted fine from the PS2Browser elf file. If I try the same procedure with my us backup, it doesn't work. So can anyone verify that this is the case, that the first game must be same region with the backup one? Being in Greece with capital controls and Paypal not working is kinda hard to just buy a us copy of a game just to test this, so any help would be nice!!!
You mean launch from usb? I am afraid that the usb 1.2 that the ps2 has will make things kinda sluggish. Also using popstarter, can I play any game or there is a compatibility issues and only some games work?
I only play psx games with popstarter from a usb flash stick. Works flawlessly, loading times are generally better. Some games don't work, most games work. It's not a big deal, why don't you just try it and see for yourself
