hi members , i bought a broken PS2 off ebay and it came with a Controller. I fixed the PS2 but the Controller is still being a problem after a few fixes and checks.

what happens is some buttons dont work but some do.............

i removed the Capacitor and it comes up ok with my DMM , i even put a new one in and still problems. I cleaned the Button Rubbers with isopropyl alcohol as well as the Ribbon Circuit Board still problematic.

what else can i try or this thing is toast ?

    chat soon

Dualshock 2 controllers are a pain to fix if they are broken. Most likely you wont be able to fix it without completely replacing the circuit, that usually fixes all the problems.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Controller-...ircuit-Board-Type-SA1Q42A-for-PS2-Dualshock2-

Just be sure that you buy the right type of circuit for your controller.

If you really want to fix the controller without replacing the circuit, you could try and go over the traces with conductive ink however this may not work.

thanks for replying proarturs , i checked out the ebay link and i think i found a suitable replacement. Im going by that it looks very similar to what i have , i cant match any numbers from my controller to whats on ebay.

    for example on ebay SA1Q42A

also i have tried to pull the original circuit board from the connector and it wont budge , anyone have any ideas ?

One of the common variants of the dualshock 2 has a non detachable flexboard. When those break they are toast.
