    Hey guys,

I finally got around to taking pictures of this debugging station I've had for ages. The unit in currently non-functional, the seller told me he had stupidly plugged it directly into his country's 240v power outlet without a step-down transformer. I bought it thinking that I would eventually open it up and see what I can do, but I never got around to it. The unit is in fantastic physical condition, but the box has definitely seen better days. It came bundled with what I believe to be a regular PS2 controller bubble-wrapped to the moon and back, an RGB scart cable which feels like crappy third-party plastic, the original foam inserts and bag, and the manual. The console has a "Sega of America" sticker on the bottom, and the warranty seal is intact. One strange thing to note however is that the disc tray seems to be protruding slightly, and I don't want to apply too much force to it and try to push it back in.

So how much would this go for? Would it be worth opening up and trying to fix myself if I'm just going to sell it anyway?

    Thanks.

But where could I get a replacement PSU? From another PS2 perhaps? I don't know much about electronics at all, so fixing it might be difficult for me.

yep- a retail ps2 is your best bet for repairing the psu (although it's probably just a blown fuse)...
as it is, you're looking at 40-70$ value i'd estimate on a questionable condition debug... even a great condition 30001 only fetches around 80-120$ those days loose, BUT if you were to mate up proper sony video and power cables (ideally new, still coiled) controller, fix the psu issue, and so on, given that you have a box, inserts, and paperwork, you might be netting closer to 200$.
all in all, these systems aren't worth anywhere near what they fetched a few years past, but maybe fix it up, re-bundle it, and you'll have a collector item in a few years, who knows...

    ^x2 what he said.

Many companies have liquidated there old PS2 stock piles so the supply of these debugs is crazy. Its not a good time to sell debug PS2s, but it is a great time to buy!

To be honest, a broken Debug won't fetch much. Defor is pretty much spot on with what prices have been selling for online. In actuality the box of that console is worth more than the console itself as it sits.
