Ps2, do not understand what is wrong

Hi, my ps2 is original and reads the ps2 dvd but cd not, apart musical CDs, the ps1 games none of it. It just does not read even the burned DVD with free mc boot.
What could it be?
It should not be the optical unit 2 and one I changed it definitely worked part cd worked, but did not read the CD (ps1) the same.
It can not seem to initialize ps1 discs and blue label
It must be something on the motherboard.
Support???

 

All signs point to the optics being the issue. Really common with PS2s.

 

Did you replace the optical block (OP) with one of the exact same model? Depending on your console and the optical block installed, you usually can't just replace the optical block with a different one.

edit: the burned dvd for ers have started to go but for ps1 games red screen and asks me to enter a ps1 or ps2 disc
I had heard that if you ruin optics, are the dvd does not work but the cd work .... here is the opposite.

ok I understand, but the dvd go perfectly, even the music cd ... fuses are perfect, and the spare lens that I tried to whom go the CDs but not DVDs (DVD faulty part) returns me the same error: red screen and insert disk ps1 and ps2
I will not buy a new lens for ps2, which is to be scrapped.

ok I solved, I installed the mod chip, and by magic I read everything I can not explain what happened to me, and to my surprise the modchip still had the settings of when I lifted from the same console, just that when I removed the chip, cDs were read without problems ...
