Hi Guys! Got some questions about my PS2 TEST DTL-H30001 NTSC unit, as my laser seems to be on it's last legs (sometimes it picks up games immidiatly other times it takes a while but usually it turns up with a disc read error ;-) I was wondering if I could replace the laser with a default PAL PS2 laser? I remember something about a special laser that checks for the right distance? on the TEST unit hence my question. And if I am going to open the sucker up anyway I was wondering if I could replace the NTSC/110v power supply with a 220v one as well? Thanks for the help!
A: Laser is a standard PS2 laser (nothing special about the laser, just the mechanism holding it). B: Yes, so long as you can get the correct PSU to suit the unit you can swap them out.
