Unless I am mistaken, there is no way to get a DVD to play on a stock PS2 without the green tint if you're watching over an RGB Scart connection to your TV. Apparently it's something to do with the fact that the console only outputs Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr with DVDs, even if RGB is selected in the system menu, or whatever. Please correct me if I am under a huge misapprehension. Is there a way of fixing this if I am using Free McBoot? Any apps that sort this out? Thanks.
Just a random though, no idea about the odds of it working: Tried messing around with FMCB's GSM settings yet? edit: My bad, it's actually OPL that has the GSM settings.
Man this was such a crazy measurement taken by Sony to stop bootleggers from make high quality copies of movies. Back in the day Datel had a solution for this, search for DVD Region X. Perhaps you'll be able to put the code of this on your Free McBoot as an app.
Just remembered seeing this thread earlier, and indeed it also covers the green screen issue. Didn't read it all the way through so no idea if a fix was released in the end or not, but I guess either you have better chances poking around over there.
I had a read through - it's a little above my head as I'm not very clued-up on the PS2 mod scene. I think my PS2 has the 3.00 DVD Player on it, is there some kind of tutorial on how to get this mod working? I'd prefer to find a software solution. I could install a modchip if I wanted to, but I have too much else to do atm. Is this related to the forum post that rso linked?
> is there some kind of tutorial on how to get this mod working? the place to get this answered is over in that other thread.
