PS2 Fat Fan upgrade?

I just upgraded the fan in my OG Xbox to a larger, quieter fan, when I a buddy saw he asked me about possibility of doing this for a PS2 Fat. Only Fan mods i've ever seen on those, was where you cut a hole in the top of the case and place a fan there. Anyone ever do an internal fan upgrade in a PS2 fat? Just thought i'd see if anyone had any tips, more efficient fans etc.Plus, best place to power it from.

 

There are no such tips for that, anything you will probably do will cause case cutting/damaging to fit a fan. Fan connector will be pain too. I really doubt about this idea, that will looks ugly but who knows. I might be wrong. Just OG xbox and PS2 fans are too different in that.

 

Thanks, that’s kind of what I’ve seen as well. Just thought possibly there’d be a more efficient fan, that could be wired in a PS2 modder may be aware of. Just one more reason I love the OGXBOX so much. Thanks again.

 

Depending on your model, switching with the fan from a V9 (I think) fat might make it quieter.

It's definitely possible, I installed the new quieter fan from a 50002 console into a 30001R and it worked perfectly. Plug and play.
