No point doing that, SONY's own driver for OSD skips the password as well.

Let's just leave it as it is. The person who wrote the whole HDD drivers library (Sjeep) was aware of all of this and deliberately decided to implement the check and block access to SONY PW locked partitions. His "Toxic OS" stuff has no such restriction. So his plan was keep some advantage on his product.

He was hired by Divineo and worked on both DMS3 and DMS4 modchips. So he had second intentions.

Whatever you think of him, it doesn't matter here. Since it lacks support for the filesystem type argument, we cannot get it to create partitions for other filesystems like the HDLoader "filesystem".

Yes, the Sony OSD and MBR skips the password check. But the point here is whether we want to provide user programs with the ability to set an optional password or not... (But yes, it doesn't really matter since it's insecure with homebrew anyway. The era of security via obscurity and keeping it closed-source is long over for the PS2)

But if you want to make it password-free, at least totally remove the check instead of just disabling it... lol.

Either way, it should be committed into the centralized PS2SDK repository instead of just sitting in uLaunchELF's source set. :nightmare:
