PS2 Final Fantasy XI question

    Is the hard drive absolutely necessary to play this game? Also can I use just about any plain IDE hard drive or does it have to be specific to one made for PS2? I only got a 60GB hard drive that isn't SATA or SCSI.

    you can only play this game with a hdd, it has to be the sony hdd for the ps2. the game needs to match the region of your ps2(but you could alos use a test ps2 with magic gate) and has to be original.
