Is this right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_games_incompatible_with_PlayStation_2 Seems certain model has problem with some games. I have a 30000 and it would suck if I can't play any of the RPGs I like. If it's true and the problem makes the game unplayable, maybe I should hunt around for a 39000? Or would torrent have iso of those RPG that has been patched? I am getting mine modded after all and I could burn patched games.
If you were looking to play Big Mutha Truckers 2, you might be out of luck. I have a 30001-R and it's played everything I've thrown at it so far (in terms of PS1/PS2 blue discs/PS2 DVDs), but a few PS1 games did occasionally display some corrupt graphics. Saw this with both Final Fantasy VII and Street Fighter Alpha 3 regarding on-screen items that are 2D (pictures/banners/text). I might be able to track down some pictures I took of FF7 at least.
