Hello. I have Slim with GH-052-12 mainboard and finaly I have installed the HDPro kit. The Modbo 4.0 works as it must, but when I run the HDLoader (special version for it) I get an error. It says that my Modbo 4.0 has incorrect firmware to be flashed. I have bought it from alibaba and I think they add to the kit a useless ordinary modbo 4.0 chip with 1.99 firmware. Any advice would be pleased. P.S. Also I have two 70008 and maybe I should throw away that fake stuff (if it is fake of cource) and use its shell to store the HDD while it be connected via automans IDE interface, should I? What supports the automan IDE conection method? (PSBBN, Linux for example).
Official stuff (PSBBN for example) won't work on PS2 SLIMs. If your intention is play with that I'd suggest you get a PS2 fat with a (LEGIT) network adapter. Stay away of stuff like HDPRO, as it only works (poorly) for HD Loader games and nothing else. Same can be said of these knockoff network adapters whose only the HDD port works.
Thank you for your answer. I already have 30004+NA, I want to see how slim with the hdd will work. What should I do with HD Pro to get it to work? I also want to make a 70008 using automan diagram with built in adapter IDE 2.5->MMCard (like on picture) and power on it via 5V usb point from PS2 mainboard. Does anyone tried that?
70008 model has a direct HDD solder points. It'll work better with those. I think OPL has support for HD Pro too. PSBBN is not very useful and only works in 28bit addressing.
i tried that with an old laptop. very poor compatibility. i wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't any different with ps2.
SATA converter with FC1307A chip works fine. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?48051-PS2-Slim-with-SATA-SD-Adapter
