Has anyone managed to run a master burned copy of Linux for the PS2 on a TEST. I patched the first disk with loser's disc patcher and that works great, its boots fine. Because the second disc doesn't have the file to patch I burnt it normally and it didn't work. I have re-built the second disc using CD_DVD Gen and now I can get past the part where it asks for the second disc the first time. But once it asks for the disc the second time/after it opens the Linux environment it doesn't recognise it as disc 2, and so I can't get past there. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
FYI - Authentic Linux discs do work on a TEST PS2. I'm not sure what you're doing wrong - It's not a DTL-H30002 you're using is it?
The problem with using the original discs is I don't have them, and yes it is a DTL-H30002 Thanks for your help
Another member had this problem too - except with the original discs (linux wouldn't install). I have a DTL-H30002 in the cupboard but it doesn't read discs at the mo, otherwise I'd try the original discs on it for you. Grr.....!!! Here is the post on the other member's DTL-H30002 that wouldn't install Linux if it helps... http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7248
I read that thread a while ago but I think his problem was with the actual hardware of the PS2. I belive that my problem has to do with the file structure of the linux disc 2 being wrong, this is due to the fact I had to re-master it. In the process I had to extract everything from an image then put it all back into a master disc.
