PS2 Modchip Problem

Hey, my silver ps2 is modded with a Magic 5 chip and one day a few months ago decided to stop working (the chip not the ps2). I opened it up and looked around but i cant see any losse wires etc, i also went on the magic site and looked through troubleshooting etc but no luck Anyone got any ideas what could be wrong?

Ok the ps2 turns on and works as if the modchip isnt there. Theres no indication that the chip is even there, it just stopped working one day :S

 

Did you install the chip yourself.?

 

Nope it was installed professionaly and worked perfectly fine until a few months ago.

 

Have you turned the system completely off recently? (Using the power switch in the back)

 

Try to update the firmware. Or use another modchip... or no modchip at all ;p

How would i update the firmware? I have no money for another modchip and my ps2 acts like it has no modchip in it anyway.
