It strikes me that ps2 has entered the final phase, like the Psone. How much longer does ps2 have? I say one year.
I am surprised that sony does not drop the price down to $80 or 60 just to clear out inventory. I think the only reason they keep making it is cause ps3 does not have bc anymore. Oh well at least ps2 value won't be as terrible as ps1, some cases i hear you can't even give those away.
I swore it's been this price already for at least a couple of years now, especially since I know the Gamecube has been.
it's been $99 for a long time. i don't know who in their right mind would go out and buy one new now though.
I might buy a new one. My original fat PS2 unit is getting a little creaky, and with Sakura Taisen (and possibly some Gamestreet 505 and Simple 2500 games lined up for US release) I still want to make time for that platform. For under a hundred bucks, redundant hardware is never a bad thing. Apropos of nothing, I'm still annoyed at how Microsoft and Sony have mishandled backward compatibility on their current consoles. On any given day when I play, I probably power on my original Xbox more often than my 360.
My orig PS2 is probably nearing replacement time as well. I'd also rather have as close to the original hardware as possible. I think I'll probably pick one up in a month or two.
it's still impressive how small, lightweight and silent the current PS2 models are compared to the fat PS2 in 2000. I wonder how the PS3 will look in 7 years.
Another proof that only tards work at sony: despite the wii opening a new market for low-cost consoles they go and leave the PS2 behind, just like SEGA did with the Genesis, with the result of the Snes taking the entire market. Too bad the lens are still made of raw shit...
Aye but I am lazy, I just want it done in hardware and know every game is going to work and not look like shit.
