I picked up an import copy of Police 24/7 along with one of the listed compatible usb cameras (the Creative Labs CT6840). I can get the game to boot (US system) and recognize my gun with no problem, but no matter what I try it won't recognize the camera. I've tried a number of other USB cameras along with an Eye Toy, but no luck. I found the following list of supposedly compatible cameras, but have had no luck locating any of them other than the CT6840: USB Cameras compatible with Police 24/7: Aiptek HyperVcam Home/ Mobile Amitech AWK-300 TEVion MD 9308 D-Link DU-C300 D-Link/Link AV LVC100 Hawking Tech UC-110 Creative Labs WebCam3, WebCam Plus CT6840 Samsung Anycam MPC-M10 Mtekvision Zeca MV402 MediaForte PC Vision 300 Terratec TerraCam Pro OmniVision OV51+ Trust SpaceCam 200/300 Lifetec LT 9388 BestBuy EasyCam U TCE NetCam 310u Medion MD9388 Webeye 200B Anybody have this up and running? I'm using a US V7 fat system for my testing. No matter what I try, it always says USB camera not connected.
I can help you. To play this game like the arcade version, you'll need to have the Konami Capture Eye USB camera and the Konami Blaster gun. The Konami Capture Eye USB Camera: http://www.ncsxshop.com/cgi-bin/shop/RU035.html (unfortunately Sold Out) Camera + Game http://cgi.ebay.com/PS2-THE-KEISATS...ryZ11988QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem Gun + Game http://cgi.ebay.com/PS-Konami-Blast...sPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting Anyway, i never heard it worked with other cameras. Where did you read that? I have this game (PAL version) but haven't played in a while. Unfortunately i played it with the controller only. PS: The game is callled Police 24/7 in Europe, Police 911 in USA and The Keisatsukan - Shinjuku 24 hours in Japan.
Thanks for the info! I've contacted one of the sellers you listed about trying to get all of the pieces for it. I found the camera list on a Spanish forum I ran across while googling. I don't speak Spanish, but what I got out of it was that the list I posted all use the same chipset as the Capture Eye and were compatible. The one that was missing was the actual Capture Eye, so I never knew about it. I have gotten the game to work with a generic PS1/PS2 lightgun and I've read that it will work with a Guncon 1, but I haven't tried that yet. Thanks for filling in the blanks I had with regards to the Japanese release. I was not aware that it had been released there as well. Hopefully I'll be able to work a deal with one of the ebay sellers and get it running the way it is supposed to!
Hope you manage to make it work. Totally forgot about those generic multi-system guns. Let us know if it works out
I will do that! I've got the camera ordered as well as the Japanese version of the game (much easier to run on an NTSC screen). Hopefully I'll have it running soon! Thanks again for your help on this!ray:
