PS: For the ones with modchipped PS2 and/or with HDTV without low-res support which are freezing (BSOD) and/or giving "no-signal", maybe GSM038.ELF can be somewhat useful (https://bitbucket.org/doctorxyz/gsm/downloads). Developers, feel free for injecting GSM core code inside POPS Starter; no problem on that.

First Hi to all, krHACKen and others thank you for this great work! Second sorry for my english, it's not my native language.

For some time I was using Delcro's POPS USB version and now i'm testing krHACKen's and sadly i've noticed few problems:

1. Die Hard Trilogy PAL and NTSC - freezes during first "DIE HARD TRILOGY LOADING" screen, when i disable compatibility mode 3 it works but with no music like in Delcro's version. So mode 3 chrashes this game, tried mode 1, mode 2 and mode 5, same thing

2. Descent Maximum NTSC - playable, very slow, major sound problems, tested all modes no changes, i think that USB speed is to slow for this game (same problems on Delcro's version)

i've noticed other problem with both versions of POPS USB, when i use pendrive games loads every time when i run .ELF file but when i use USB external HDD in Delcro's version there is 50% chance that it wont run and go back to PS2 menu (running ELF file via SMB in OPL fixes this problem), and in krHACKen's version it's even worse (this time SMB method dont fix the problem, it's bigger chance to work but still not 100%) I dont know what causes the problem.

 

Dreamer:
- Support .bin .iso ... files.
- GUI
- SMB support (like OPL)

Interesting... Patchs for compatibility works! PATCH_4 fixes slowdown in Winning Eleven 2000 U23.
note: using Sandisk USB stick 16GB.

Maybe a configurable USB delay feature (like the OPL one) could solve this problem...

Great to see USB implementation. I'm sure it will come in handy for a lot of people.
The feature that i'm really happy about is the ability to make multiple POPS partition = more games = win.

FR : Vous avez des problèmes avec le jeu "Die Hard Trilogy", le jeu est-il un original que vous avez transposé en "VCD" ? Si c'est NON, vous avez peut être une mauvaise copie !!! Le mode 0x04 fait parfois des miracles.

Avez-vous essayé de lancer un BIOS différent de celui qui est dans POPStarter ??? Peut être une solution à vos problèmes !!!


Votre périphérique USB est sûrement pas très bon ou la PS2 a des soucis avec le fonctionnement de votre USB (c'est une Fat ou une Slim ?).


Chez moi, presque tous les jeux testés sur HDD interne fonctionnent en USB. Je fais mes essais sur clé USB3 rapide (Patriot Supersonic RAGE 64Go) et sur Disque Dur Externe connecté dans un boîtier FW400/USB2 (marque AluSlim). Je ne perd que 2 à 3% de compatibilité par rapport à la liste HDD. Comparez et vous verrez ! Enregistrez vous aux listes et vous pourrez ainsi participer activement à la "monté" en puissance de ces listes pour le plus grand bien de toute la communauté.

Your USB device is probably not very good or the PS2 has concerns with the operation of your USB (it is a Fat or Slim?).


At home, almost every game tested on internal HDD work in USB. I make my tests faster USB3 key (64GB Patriot Supersonic RAGE) and External Hard Drive connected to a FW400 / USB2 enclosure (brand AluSlim). I loses only 2 to 3% with respect to the compatibility list HDD. Compare and see! Register lists and you can actively participate in the "mounted" power of these lists for the greater good of the whole community.
