[PS2] POPS stuff & POPStarter

    krHACKen is it possible to run VCDs from DVD or CD discs? can we use hex editing in pfs wrapper or in popstarter.kelf to make it load VCDs from DVD/CD disc? how can i do that?)

    Just wanted to say thanks so much for the new update, it's great!
    I wanted to ask you krHACKen, I know there is a way to play games with Gameshark codes through PS2RD. Do you think it is possible to patch or hex edit Gameshark codes into a PSX ISO image? it would be great to have the image already with codes and to just launch the .VCD.

    As its possible to do it with PS2 games, IMO it should be possible to do it with PS1 games. Cant help you tho, as I never deal with PS1 codes.


    Im just curious... why do you want to do this ?

    Você pode jogar o jogo com os códigos GameShark que você quiser.
    É só usar a função “-trainer” do toolbox, para criar um arquivo “TROJAN” com os códigos, depois você copia para a pasta do seu jogo.
    O “POPSTARTER.ELF” vai carregar o arquivo “TROJAN” com os códigos, juntamente com o jogo. Isso vai acontecer, todas as vezes que você carregar o seu jogo, se você não quer mais carregar os códigos juntamente com o jogo, é só deletar o arquivo “TROJAN” da pasta.
    Eu acho esta opção mais interessante, desta maneira, a imagem permanece original, sem modificações.

    You can play the game with GameShark codes you want.

    i have some games that i converted using the wip3, to use wip5 i have to convert the games again or just rename and replace the popstarter.elf?

    NO, you don't re-convert the Game. You just replace the "POPSTARTER.ELF" by the new WIP05.

    You olso use the "uLE" by kHn for launching the ".VCD" directly. Read please the "Documentation.txt".

    Can we pack all the files for the game into PS2 DVD ISO in order to load it from USB/HDD/SAMBA (Open PS2 Loader for example)?

    just curious, now if you work again in the emu you still focus your work on fixes for games
    which crashes or freezes like last time you worked on it?
    Some great games which crashes are Real Bout Special: Dominated Mind, Parasite Eve 2,
    Crisis Beat, Brave Fencer Musashi, Countdown Vampires, Dragon Ball Z: Idainaru Dragon Ball Densetsu, Hydro Thunder, Looney Tunes Racing, Mega Man Legends 1&2, Micro Maniacs, Motor Toon Grand Prix 1&2,
    No Fear Downhill Mountain Biking, Penny Racers, Philosoma, SkullMonkeys, Spyro 2 and Spyro
    Year of the Dragon PAL versions, Valkyrie Profile or Warcraft II: The Dark Saga.

    Or maybe you can look for make more compatibility modes for fix sound problems?
    Although there are various sound modes availables, they do not fixes the amount of
    games which still have sound problems.
    I would like see fixed the sound problems of games like the two X-Com games or
    the Z: The Bitmap Brothers.

    Or maybe you look for create compatibility modes for try to fix graphical problems?
    I would like see the graphical problems fixed for games like TechnoMage, Soul Blade,
    Ridge Racer series, Crash Bash, Legend of Legaia, Final Fantasy VII, or Xenogears.

    Just to know what you have in mind.

    krHACKen : do you have a Gameshark version of your code list cheats ? It has some codes that I cant find elsewhere and i would like to try to use them using a trainer trojan.

    krHACKen (or someone else),
    I am trying to patch a game (MediEvil II), it is flickering on me. I know that to are supposed to add the patch to the VMC directory. I have gone to the __.POPS directory and the game. I see SLOT0.VMC and SLOT1.VMC. I have tried to add PATCH_4.bin to the SLOT0.VMC. But SLOT0.VMC (not an .elf) doesn't open to so I can't add the patch. Am I supposed to mount VMC1 first? I have been able to save games with no problems without a memory card installed. What am I doing wrong.......need help? Thanks in advance.

    Dont place your PATCH in the VMC itself, but in the VMC directory of the game. Like this:
    .../POPS/MediEvilII/SLOT0.VMC
    .../POPS/MediEvilII/SLOT1.VMC
    .../POPS/MediEvilII/PATCH_4.bin

    Nope.
    You can either :
    - create the POPS/MediEvilII directory before the very first time you will launch the game and then place the PATCH_4.bin inside. When the game will be launched, the 2 VMC will be generated in the game directory. Leave the PATCH_4.bin alone, and enjoy ur game.
    - launch the game, then exit it. Launching the game wil create the game directory and the 2 VMCs. Then you can place the PATCH_4.bin inside the game directory. Then play ur game.

    KrHacken , but please do not throw POPstarter development program . This in my opinion is the coolest program for PS2 . Thank you and good luck in the work .
