is it possible to program the ps2 dvd remote (later version with the green on/off button for v9+ ps2s) for use on ps3?

i dont see that working on the PS3 due to that remote is IR based and the PS3 doesn't have IR

You might be able to get an ir receiver and a ps1 to usb converter, but I think it would only work as a controller. Most of the buttons wouldn't work. You are better off getting a bluray remote.
