    Hi there,

I'm in the market for a PS2 Scart cable. I'm mainly looking at eBay and, besides a few super-expensive official cables at 50GBP (which I'm not intending to buy), the rest of the options are cheap asian 3rd party options.

I got this (I couldn't test it yet, my PS2 is on its way):
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/26094592535...NX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1503wt_982 for 4.50GBP

...and because it takes so long, and I really wanna have a good working cable by the time my PS2 arrives, I was thinking of gamble on another cheap one:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/18073345774...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649#ht_1737wt_1197

Do you guys have any recommendation, any link on eBay that you've tested and been happy about it?

    Thanks!

Build quality is key. It'd take a pretty idiotic cable maker to have surprises. Sony today continues to use their initial PS1 pinout from 1994, leaving RGB intact even for countries where it's almost never used.

What I bought was by Naki:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350473809435&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:1123

From its packaging's company address (Los Angeles CA), it appears to be an SCART cable possibly actually released in the United States! Strange.

The Playstation 2 RGB SCART (lead SCPH-10142) is probably the best RGB cable you can buy, 3M long and does give a better picture then a number of cheaper SCART cables. If you do find one for around 30 quid then do snap it up.

Also note that a number of people on Ebay do try and sell the Japanese RGB cable (SCPH-1050) as a SCART cable when it is not (i have sold a few of these boxes for around 20 quid each...), if you have and XRGB unit then it is useful for that but you will not get a picture on a SCART TV otherwise. The official one is SCPH-1052 and these are quite rare for some reason.

Although the build quality does make a difference, the ferrite cores around the official scart leads do cut out interference which is why a lot of unofficial leads are so short.

I recall Ixos had some good quality ones out a while back also. Have a look at >this< one.
*EDIT* Same thing on eBay >here< although I'm not sure if it's still a 3 metre version.

If you can get an official one, I really do recommend it. It is one of the highest quality official Scart cables I've seen.
