I need some help with this. So I just got this PS2 for cheap and its spindle was broken. I tried to use one from a 75003 but it wouldn't work. I found out it's chipped by the way, as I was greeted with the "Modbo Chip" screen just before the blue mist would appear. Any ides how to make a spindle with a longer ribbon work on this model? The one from 75003 would fit in the connector, it's just that I needed to tuck the cable since it was longer than the original. It wouldn't spin games though. Is the pinout different somehow? I thought that all the slim spindles share the same pins on every revision and that it's just the length of the ribbon that is shorter. If it helps, the laser is a KHM-430, and the console is N-chassis. The laser works by the way, it's the spindle that doesn't.
It wont work, pins on theconnector on the motherboard are the other way around, send me a picture of the whole laser unit, may have a spare motor / spindle
The connectors are in the same orientation, with pins being orientated to the right. I did make sure to insert the spindle ribbon cable so it makes contact with the pins in the connector. Still, that doesn't explain why it won't work.
