Hi, this is my first post here. I got ps2 sdk yesterday. I found out that is has tools that are not in exe files for windows xp. I imagine that exe files might be executed with cmd.exe I found only ps2str.exe and ps2strw.exe The tools that i are interested in is here: E:\Emu\PS2SDK\SonySDK\sce\iop\sample\sound The folders there is: bypass16 enadpcm ezadpcm ezbgm ezmidi ezsein hdplay msbasic sebasic semidi sesq2play sesqhard sfxbasic sqdump sqhard sqsoft sqsong voice I then go to E:\Emu\PS2SDK\SonySDK\sce\iop\sample\sound\sqhard Readme file. I found out that i miss SMF2SQ and JAM tools from SCE. CSL is component sound library used for converting instrument and music files to SQ, HD, BD. I know what SMF is. And it is Standard Midi File. A general midi sequence file using gm.dls from C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc.
To use to SDK to it's fullest, you need a Linux box. I run Red Hat 9.0 on mine. I've never actually tried the windows tools in the SDK so I don't know.
Can't you post SMF2SQ with JAM tools authoring tools? please. If it only works for linux. I will use it in vmware. I search for vmware image with pre installed redhat linux 6.2 that has vmwaretools installed. + PS2SDK folder on it. Thanks for reply. Thanks in advance. Edit, these files says they used tools not available in ps2sdk: Readme from sce\ee\sample\sk\ctrlsq\ Readme from sce\ee\sample\sk\playsq\ Readme from sce\iop\sample\sk\sound\sqhard\
I can confirm , the are some missing conversion tools in the sdk. I was looking for those tools some times ago.
Buying the PS2 SDK is risky because it's not guaranteed you get the conversion utilities. All you get is only documentation with examples. The tools that created the example files was not included.
@unclejun. I have checked that and there was no tool to create .bd and .hd files. http://www.2shared.com/file/YsG5mXZs/Data.html In CMD i would write: smf2sq.exe input.mid output.sq Then press enter and the program converts it.
I'll continue to search, maybe I have it on another disc... What version of the SDK do you have? I mean the model number of the disc dtl-sxxxxx?
I have no disc dtl number. I only have this: IOPRP153.IMG (Created in 29 May 2000) from: Hresvelgr SLPS-20024. That game has many .SQ files with one .BD and .HD file. Hresvelgr was released in november 2000. I guess it's content was made with tools from: DTL-T10000 development station? A BD file starts with this: A HD file starts with this:
