I just installed a modbo 5.0 in my PS2 slim (scph-70011) and everything boots fine but I've run into a few problems. -All of the chip's functions seem to be working properly -Discs wont spin up at all, I've tried (legit) PS1 and PS2 games -Laser still moves when I boot the console and when I press down the two sensors for the disc cover -Wont recognize my PS2 memory card -WILL recognize my PS1 memory card -If I go into the PS2 bios my controller stops responding after some time and wont work again until I restart the console -Restarting the console resets the internal clock and language settings All the ribbon cables are plugged in and no solder points are broken as far as I can tell.
This may help. Other than that, I suggest redoing all your points as one not-perfect point on the PS2 can cause the chip not to work. Check to make sure you didn't bridge anything. As for the clock/language settings, are you certain you put the battery back in properly and it's not dead? Those batteries are old now (depending on age of console, around 10 years ago... give or take) so I usually just change them out when I open the systems now.
