Here are some sound related stuff:

    Sound Artist Tools:
-for MacOs, JAM, Sound Previewer and Waveform data converter, runs on PowerPC 604e or later (G3 or later is recommended), MacOS 8.6/OpenTransport 2.0.3 or later.
-for PC/Linux x86, Sound Previewer, runs on RedHat Linux 5.2, 6.0.

    The sound previewer works with:
-the DTL-H800 PCI board under MacOS,
-a SoundBlaster or compatible card under Linux,
-an USB-Ethernet adapter under MacOS or Linux (list of working models are in the readme) and a PS2 capable of playing backups.

Digital audio and music converters from the PS1 sdk for DOS/Windows3.x/9x.

You need a PowerPC with MacOs 8.6, 9 or X v10.4 (and the Classic environment).
Or you could try SheepShaver or PearPC (Mac emulators).

10.4 was the last version with Classic (on a PPC, Classic doesn't work on Intel cpu Macs), so yes it should work with 10.3.
You need to install Classic manually, I'm not sure if it is installed by default.

Time to setup a Mac VM to try this :p

Still, isn't it weird that they only produced this tool for Mac? Or was it also released for Linux or Windows?

Dazopy, yes it will work with 10.4.11 and Classic on PPC hardware.
Note that it requires OMS (part of OpenTransport), not sure if that is included in the MacOS9 system installed by Classic under MacOSX, so it might be better to use it on an emulated MacOS 8.6 or 9 using SheepShaver.

pool7, from the latest docs I have (march 2004), JAM was only released for the Mac.
A lot of complaints about this were posted in the newsgroups, check sce.dev.prog.spu.pdf from the 2001 TechRef disc.
Only format converters are available for Windows, and the sound previewer for Linux.

I suppose it's a remnant of the PS1 development situation, the first PS1 Sound Artist Tool (DTL-H700) was released as a NuBus card for pre-PCI style Macs, the second PS1 Sound Artist Tool (DTL-H800) was a PCI card for both Mac and PC.
SCE released JAM to be used with the old H800 card so developers and musicians could continue to use the hardware they already had.

Updated versions of JAM and the command-line tools were available on the PS2 devs only website.
I don't have any of them, unless someone leaks those, we'll never see them...

I meant they weren't given on the sdk discs anymore.
They are probably still available from http://www.scedev.net/

I am not a licensed developer and will never be it. I will never pay for access. And can i pretend to be a licensed developer?
    Free access?

I assume you'll be more interested in the tools found in /psxsound/PC/beta:
PCI_SND - A PCI Sound artist card VAB file preview tool
VABTool V2.0a beta (SEQ playback version)

You don't have a PowerMac, right?

So it's not possible? I have checked the rules. There is no rules for talking about being a false/fake licensed developer. It may not go through as wanted. Because the information is not true. It's invalid.
