i dont think this was mentioned elsewhere, searched around and couldnt find anything based on posts in the forums, i know what the useability differences are, but im curious in hardware, like photos of the motherbaord, front and rear case pics (unless they are the same), any different board specs like memory, proc speed, etc. thanks in advance
Ive managed to find some pictures on ProgrammingAce's website, http://www.gamerhistory.com/hardware/DTLH10000S.html Now i have a question for ProgrammingAce, is there a posibility of higher resoultion pictures being posted, it would be very much appreciated. Also, does anyone have pictures from other models?
lol, i'm having some severe issues with my internet connection right now... high res pics might take a while... I do plan on comparing a DTL-H10000 and DTL-H10000S internally just to try to figure out what the freaking difference is...
Thats kinda what im interested in doing between a retail and a test, but since i dont have a test ps2 yet (anyone got one they want to sell pm me), im relying on pictures, as they will at least tell me any physical layout differences. IF possible i would like pictures of the model test that most resembles the SCPH-30001R (im assuming DTL-H30001x) as that is the only consumer version i have so far (one good, and one disassembled for parts/examining. I have 4 more ps2s on the way, unknown at this time what version they are. So pics from any version would be appreciated
See the problem with what you are asking is, most people who own these units don't want to open them because it decreases their value. Take me for example, I have a DTL-H30002 S and I would never consider opening it as it is complete with its box and all the accessories, the same applies to any other rare console. If you are looking for good comparisons there are a few models worth comparing: SCPH-10000 and the DTL-H10000, The SCPH-30001(the version with 10 screws on the bottom) and the DTL-H30001 and the SCPH-50001(first revision) with the DTL-H50001. Your SCPH-30001R I don't think will be useful for comparison. So far I have found 2 other differences with mine: It can use a swap magic disc without a slide tool, when you actually swap discs you can hit the eject button put in your disc the hit button again to close and it will boot fine. It also doesn't work with the SCPH-1202 RF adaptor (although this is an adapter for "PlayStation" not PS2 it works with my SCPH-50002).
From what i've seen in the various areas of this site, several people are not afraid to open things up. BTW, i'm also one of those kinds of people, a 'warrenty void if removed' label is an invitation for me to open her up and check out the guts.
I can't believe that I totally forgot about the ram, it must have just slipped to the back of my mind.
