I'm looking for an adapter so I can use my MAS Sticks on my soon to be bought new Laptop. http://www.amazon.com/PS2-Dual-Cont..._2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1245075905&sr=8-2 I don't know if that one will work with Vista (64 bit) but that's the Front runner (because it's so cheap) Does anyone else have this and can vouch for it's Vista compatibility and what emulators work with it?
I recommend any adapter by SmartJoy. I don't know if they're compatible with 64-bit Vista (Mayflash at least has Vista drivers on their site), but the 64-bit version is a bit sucky when it comes to compatibility anyway so my advice would be to get the 32-bit version.
Same thing maybe? S-Joy Converter. It's called "Titanium". Been using it for years - never looked back.
I can't vouch for that brand but I will say that any usb converter will most likely install as an HID-compliant game controller device. I'm using a radioshack usb converter on Vista64 that works great. The only feature it does not support is rumble. If your playing a "Games for Windows Live" game I suggest using the Xbox controller emulator over at toca-edit.com. http://www.tocaedit.com/IB/index.php?automodule=downloads&showcat=1 Use Xpadder5.3 for any other game that doesn't support a gamepad. As for emulators, as long as the system knows the gamepad is there the emu should pick it up as well.
