I was looking for one of these in Akiba the other day as I figure I'm better off using a spare PS controller for some PC gaming, and stumbled across one that occupies a 5.25" PC drive bay, with two USB ports for good measure. It looks pretty clean and for $10. Kind of a waste of a drive bay, but curiosity got the better of me.

Anybody seen one of these? Can't find anything on Google. I'm hoping it's HID compliant to run under linux..

I've used a BOOM! PS2->USB converter. It worked a charm for about 6 months then fried itself and my PS Dual Shock. I'm not sure if this is typical or just bad luck. My advice: don't go too cheap.

I have a "BOOM!" convertor too, it still works just fine.

Have you used it much? I might have just been unlucky but it was plugged in 24/7

We sell the Logic3 Playstation-PC Converter. It is an external USB device. £6 and works fine... better than the old triangular 2-port ones we used to sell!

Used it for years, always plugged in, with heavy use. No problems. Now it's used as part of a custom PC arcade stick that had arcade micro switches wired to a PSX pad's PCB and then is plugged into the adapter. Originally it was to be just a PSX arcade stick, but the PCB I used wasn't compatible with PS2! ='(
