I'm going through the mountain of ps2 tools I have, anyone know what the leds indicating red on the PCMCIA area, not on the backplane mean? I am guessing it means the ps2 side is fubar.
There are 16 leds on the Tool motherboard behind the PCMCIA sub-board, they are supposed to be lit up, maybe not all at once, I can't remember exactly. If you change one of the dipswitch on the mobo, the 8 leds at the bottom display a binary counter and the upper 8 leds are all lit. Do you have any video output on the PS2 regular A/V port and/or on the hidden VGA port? If the leds turn on, it's better than if they all stay black...so don't trash the Tools just yet.
I am pretty sure they are just readouts. These tools were all modified quite a bit , they were upgraded from T10000 to t10000h, some have upgraded pc cards. What would be a fast test? run a game from drive right? Desdb? I can't remember the command. Do you remember the command to run a game, I am sure it would be the fastest test. I haven't touched a tool in over two years since I had surgery.
If I am willing to pay who cares?? I only asked you a question and you never answer me. If you sell a broken TOOL for say $200 and then shipping is $300 that's $500 which is still cheaper than the my original TOOL that I bought, which is still broken. I watched your You Tube Video btw where you have replaced the processor in one and you showed the heat, and that's possibly what's happening with mine, so thanks for that. Thanks for that man, it's funny that an Australian is sticking up for a Kiwi.
