PS2Netbox / PS2USB network adapter

When you received the unit, a fmcb card will have already been supplied. The ps2netbox modified OPL file is booted from Mass:/OPL.elf

Format the drive to Exfat and make sure all the correct named folders are placed on the root of the drive.

Load the Fmcb configurator from the browser screen and select "Configure E1 Launch Keys" and set it to Auto Mass:/OPL.elf (mass is the hdd) Save CNF changes to the memory card.

The netbox uses flash memory to update opl versions and to load OPL from a virtual mass partition.

Do not use the official opl builds as they will not work correctly with the unit.

This is the part which I don't understand. I didn't receive any fmcb card. I am still confused how I am able to run the thing. I own my FMCB 8MB Memory Card with official OPl....but how do I get the modified OPL for the netbox?

Download "ULE442.ELF" from here:

Use only this cable:

Turn on PS2.
Find a way to run "ULE442.ELF" (FMCB, modchip, etc is needed).
Go on "mass:/" or "mass1:/".
Look for "OPL.ELF" or "OPL_ENG.ELF".
Copy this file on Memory Card.
Turn off PS2.
Connect all the the cables.
Turn on PS2.
Run OPL\OPL_ENG.ELF.

Make sure you're using latest version.
Latest update can be downloaded from here (ps2netbox_update_20180330):

I finally got it. The confusing part was for me that the usb "cable" is actually an usb storage with the modified OPL included! I followed the steps in the video above and it worked!

edit: Not sure if this a bug but when loading from HDD no PS2NetBox logo is displayed.

 

What type of HDD?
USB HDD, PS2HDD, PS2NetBox HDD?
What "OPL" version have you got?
Did you seen at least "Starting network connection", etc?

 

I use PS2NetBox HDD. No worries it works now.

 

Does the ps2netbox supports SSD? ...and do you think it would make a difference in loading time to use ssd instead of hdd in context of ps2 netbox?

 

It uses SATA,
so you can connect every drive (probably up to 2TB) which is compatible with this interface.

 

Normally PS2 game cover size for OPL is 140x200, PS1 games has different ratio.
What should be the cover size for PS1 games?

 

Wow, just found this and it looks amazing. Will the PS2USB ever support PS2LOGO and DS3/DS4 controllers? That would seal the deal for me. I will most likely buy it in the next few days regardless...thank you so much @ps2netbox for making this!

 

Currently PS2USB\PS2NetBox doesn't support DS3\DS4 controllers, but "normal" OPL does,
so it'll need small update.
Anyway to use OPL with DS3\DS4 controllers you'll need to have USB bluetooth adapter
(if you want to use it wirelessly):

J'ai oublié de préciser, j'ai aussi deux PS2NetBox à vendre totalement neufs, je n'en ai plus aucune utilité, les prix sont frais de port inclus pour la France seulement. C'est négociable pour les autres pays. Leur prix est inférieur à celui pratiqué par le chinois et devrait vous intéresser. N'oubliez pas, je n'en ai que deux, pas une de plus !!!

Thanks guys. I should have been more clear, I know that OPL supports DS3/DS4 but not sure about this device. Thanks for the compatibility list @AlGollan84 !

 

To be add, I don't even know if @ps2netbox will update "his" OPL,
DS3\DS4 will work with PS1 games.
In OPL this feature works only with PS2 Games, not with apps.

 

@ps2netbox: the problems with Fatal Frame, SOS: The Final Escape and the PAL .hack game series have been identified. Patches are being merged into OPL.

The patch for SOS: The Final Escape is still under testing and may need to be adapted for the Japanese and US releases. But it is also on the way.

 

My PS2USB2.0 came in the mail and its working great! Does anyone know if there's a way to get PS1 art to work?

 

You mean game covers?
Copy them into "OPL\ART".

If your game name is:
"Syphon Filter.VCD"
Your cover should be:
Syphon Filter_COV.png
I suggest to use png, instead of jpg.

C'est une expression qui signifie qu'il travaille sur un autre projet comme il l'avait annoncé au tout début de cette discussion pour vendre plus facilement et escroquer plus rapidement tous ceux qui achèteraient ses interfaces sans poser de questions dérangeantes. Je l'ai un peu forcé à améliorer son OPL trafiqué et j'en suis bien content. Le marché chinois aurait dû amplement suffire mais ce monsieur avait d'autres vues.
Un très bon "hacker" m'a aidé à bien comprendre son OPL et son fonctionnement lorsqu'il "flashe" ses interfaces. Je n'en dévoilerai pas plus …
