ps3 black screen

    When I go to load a game on my ps3, be it off cd or off psn it just goes to a black screen, I have restored, done sfae mode and most things I can think of but still no luck! anyone know whats wrong and how to fix?

    some more detail please. whats kind of ps3 is it? did you replace the bd drive recently?
    atm. i can only suggest to check if all of the bd drive's cables are connected. if yes, it could be your bd daughter board that died.

    Yeh we replaced the blu ray drive and also changed both daughter boards and on the 3rd now but still wont read discs or games, it fires the internet browser up fine just anything game related it kind of has a no moment!

    also model is 60gb original phat ps3

    BD drive circuit board is MARRIED to the system.

    With a wrong one connected you will get what you're getting no matter what.

    To fix you need to downgrade to 3.55 then use factory service mode with a special software (stolen from SONY) to re-marry the drive.


    Edit: Putting the original one back is the easiest fix.

    right. that would be the easiest solution, but if the old board is dead you'd have to downgrade to fix it.
