Quick thick question, haven`t got time to search

Is the PAL blu ray player multi region or as expected region 2?

 

Blu-ray is only 3 region and so doesn't work in the same way as the old DVD region set up. The DVD player part of it is not multi-region, as you'd expect.

 

So a PAL machine will only play region 3 blu ray`s?

Am I being thick or is that a bit odd?

 

I have a Japanese unit and it plays Region 3 Blu-ray, which appears to also cover US & European titles so tbh I have no idea what other regions cover or even why they have opted for different regions!

 

While the players are region coded, I believe a good number of the discs are multi region.

 

Your 100% right not all blue ray movies are region locked but just make sure before you buy to double check that it will work in you region :thumbsup:

North America came out on top imo, we get to watch Japanese films no problem

 

So far I've not found a single BR film that didn't work in the Japanese unit I have.

 

Will have to check that they are region free mainly then!!!

 

To be on the safe side I may be importing most of my BR from Amazon.com and second-hand on eBay.com
