PS3 CECHE01 MG with 3.55 never downgraded with 1TB Hard drive

This is my personal PS3 that I have owned for 7 or 8 years. I installed a 1TB hard drive. The last Firmware that it was on was 3.55 and I used the CFW from rebug many years ago and that is still what it is running! I have not updated the CFW since and have not Played with it since either! The firmware also has never been downgraded and I was told this model cant be downgraded anyway. The PS3 is not in perfect condition but overall very good. It has scratches across the shiny top when looking at it from certain angles. It has the memory card readers and it started life as the Metal Gear 80 gig model. Works fine and has never once given me any disc read errors or any other trouble! No work has been done besides installing the hard drive since it was thicker than the stock drive. It needed to be opened to fit the drive in since it would not slip through the stock hard drive opening. This is when the 1TB drives first came out. The top and bottom match of course. I almost forgot that this is the PS2 compatible version!

I am not selling this unit unless I get a decent price for it! At this point I am testing the waters to see what it is worth! I really do not want to sell it but since I really do not use it I might consider selling it. I would trade it for a crystal DEV KIT DVT-4.

 

Bump! I want to see what you think it is worth and if I can get a trade for something that I want now. I might consider a jasper console with the blades dash board or a original jtag. I do not want a glitch hack or any or the current hacks. I want the original jtag only and it has to be a jasper! I have a XB-01 Lian Li case that I am going to install it into. I also might consider a really nice slim XDK 360 or a DVT-4.

 

I would say $275 - $300. So is it running Rebug 3.55 now or the 3.55 OFW? Either or, it isn't too difficult for whoever buys this to put whatever CFW on they want.

 

It is running rebug and it is spoofed into thinking it is running I think 4.5. I cant remember. But the official firmware is 3.55. The firmware was the rebug that was working from close to the beginning and they did not have a update for years then everyone started releasing the PSN working CFW and i never bothered updating it. It also has a bunch of games that work fine but the reason the firmware needs updating is the newer games that needed updated keys would not work on it. I know that it has multimanager on it and I had Navi X working on about a year or a little longer ago.

So yes it will be a quick update for someone. I remember when I first need to use my phone to control the hypervisor because I did not have that jailbreak dongle. But that was ages ago! MAybe I will fire it up again and see what it is running now.

I agree. $200-$300 given the backward compat plus the 1TB hdd.

 

Thanks guys. I should have sold it before consoles could have been downgraded. They had a better value then. But I might keep it unless I get 300 for it. This would be the one that I would want anyways since it has all the bells and whistles plus the biggest drive that the PS3 will take. At the time I had a 1.5TB drive and I could not get it to accept the drive. Only the 1TB and they were from the same company. I was pretty mad about that! But the 1TB is a lot of room. I should update it and use it. I know that next year I will be pissed at myself for selling it.

 

1TB is plenty of room. I think 1TB is the largest drive capacity PS3s and 360s take. I'm running Rebug 4.46 spoofed to 4.55 on my CECHA01 and I can't access the store (unless I'm missing something), but I can sign into PSN (haven't tried multiplayer, but I can see my friends list, send messages, sync trophies, download game updates... all that). If you go to Account Management > Transaction Management > Download list, it still lets you download PS Store stuff, so you're just going to have to do your shopping on your PC or PS app on your smartphone.
