hi members , i've been running this slim PS3 i got to see if it overheats. I do 2hrs straight then turn it off , interestingly i've done about 9 hours and one of the controllers i got with the console has 1 bar left of 3.

i did charge it fully before any of my heat stress tests , my concern is the controller battery. It shouldn't be that low already if i'm correct , meaning it's on it's way out.

the other controller i got with the console has analogues that won't center most of the time and get stuck going left or right etc.

i think this seller has tried to slip some shit past me , i've read his ebay feedback and another person has had issues with him over bad hardware. Interesting he has only 4 sales including me , i will be going for a partial refund for the other controller but need to figure out if this one is also defective.

btw i'm not sure how much i should be asking for in terms of a partial refund , it seems the console is ok ( needs more testing ) but the 2 controllers look to be defective. I did pay $110 Australian for everything.

    chat soon

What model is the PS3 and whats the MFR date. That can help figure out if there'd be a heat concern at all.

As for the controller, if I'm reading this right it, you're saying for 9 hours it's been on 1 bar left for battery life? While I understand your concern I'm more concerned with what the hell that controller has done to it to last that long. The stick one is understandable.

I dont think you can file a dispute on used batteries. They degrade with age, its just how it is.

hi guys , it's a Slim 2002A model............0A Date Code on the bottom. With the controller i fully charged it then i startup SFIV and let it run for 2hrs at a time , the controller LED stays on till i turn the console off. So yeah approx 9 hrs total in 2hr sessions , i'm thinking the seller tried to slip in a defective controller as a fully working controller. I think he should have listed it as faulty , actually both as the other has analogue stick problems.

Lithium batteries capacity decreases quite quickly over the age of the battery. Also, more charging cycles = decreased capacity.

I wouldnt call 50% capacity after a few years particularly unusual., especially with medium to heavy use.

I'm with @Bad_Ad84 on this one. 9 hours on a used PS3 controller isn't terrible anyways and batteries can be had for a few dollars and are easily changeable.

If you want a perfect battery, buy brand new.

PS3 Slims are also fairly reliable, especially when compared to the older "fat" ones.
