I know you aren't but I should specify this for those who don't know. DO NOT POST THE FIRMWARE ON THE SITE. It's against the rules.

Nothing current gen is allowed on the boards (exception to homebrew). It's the rule.

 

I thought that that was the idea of the 0th? There is a PS3 test for sale as we type, in the 0th marketplace.

 

Hardware and software are different.

 

It's better to be on the safe side anyway. Downloads for this can be found easily enough using google and the information in the opening post.

The 0th bit isn't that private, and you don't want to see this site get into any trouble.

 

Well NOTHING current gen doesn't explain it that way...

Are we no longer allowed to sell current gen review/ preview/ beta?

 

I was under the impression that the PS3 debug firmwares got leaked out quite regularly?

 

Actually, after looking at the rules (any that I could find atleast) - I am with you on this.

Could there be some clarification on the following:

Current Gen Development Hardware
Current Gen Development Software
Current Gen Software (POST retail release)
Current Gen Software (PRE retail release)

in terms of:

For Sale Items.
Want to buy items.
Linking to downloads.
Discussion of in forums.

I am not trying to stir anything up - I just want to know the rules.

Rules are, you can buy and sell hw (with a few additional rules for 360 kits). Sales of yet to be released games for current gen systems is not allowed. Posting up dumps unreleased/beta/sdk of current gen consoles is not allowed period.

These rules have been this way for a while. Could they be more clear? Yes and hopefully we can get the sites rules all sorted out instead of being all over the place.

I wouldn't really call it harmless and you wouldn't allow the sdk which is also on the private devnet, so why this?

 

Well with an up to data firmware you can acces the debug network, so it can do harm. (same counts for X360 firm. updates.. only the newest dash gives you acces to PN)
