According to a recent FCC document(available since 09/13/2006): EUT stands for Equipment under test, the regular ps3 here. If Sony followed their naming rules, the debug station whose name ends with a 'S' is for use at trade shows, with the regular playstation 3 logo, I wonder what is written on the other debugs...and I want one! The next interesting documents will be posted on 10/28/2006, unless Sony requests a 45 days extent of the short term confidentiality period: -External Photos -Internal Photos -Test Setup Photos -Users Manual The FCC product code for the ps3 is CBEH1000. And it seems that the ps3(retail, debug and devkit)cannot use the wifi and bluetooth at the same time...
Nice. Can't use wifi and BT? that wouldnt make alot of sense considering the controllers will be used for online play that happens to be on Wifi maybe they mean networking over BT cannot be used at the same time as WiFi?
This is from the Radio test report for the ps3: This is from a letter available on the FCC page related to the the ps3 devkit, the part about the wifi and bluetooth is the same in the ps3 radio test documents... The ps3 can use networking over BT?
FCC document itself https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retrieve.cgi?attachment_id=704297&native_or_pdf=pdf
I suggest to go to the generic search page https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm Then enter the product code CBEH1000, be sure to check both Detail and Summary lists, in the latter you'll find the release date of the documents which are downloadable on the Detail page. The product code for the ps3 devkit is on the sticker in the ps3 development kit thread, if you're interested.
I hear the unit contains an option to disable HDCP through HDMI. Can anyone confirm this? Also would this be more of a TEST than a TOOL?
Yes, this is a TEST, not a TOOL. The PS3 TOOL equal is an ugly beast that looks like it was designed by the rejects from the Betamax home division. -hl718
Ugly or not, I am certain we'd all be bidding like idiots if one ever appeared on eBay ;-) Face it, we would...no really we would!
