PS3 not to launch in USA until november, Europe and rest 2007. Sucks to be you, EU http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4731128.stm http://www.smarthousenews.com.au/En...e=/Entertainment/Games And Gear/News/S7V3A6C6
As long as the damn thing doesn't require its own AC unit to run properly, I'm fine with a November launch.
id imaigne nintendo releasing at same time. But i doubt its gonna make a huge splash. If its like psp, people will wait. But since it is the holidays, i wouldn't be shocked that it sells out.
Will this be the big break that M/S get with the 360? Could kill Revolution (if launched at the same time) unless it is simply awesome!
Sony Computer Entertainment Asia's VP Tetsuhiko Yasuda said Sony expects to ship over 100 million PlayStation 3 game consoles, and Sony aims to launch PS3 at the same time throughout Asia. He also said that Sony does not regard Xbox as a competitor, in fact Sony may work with Microsoft to develop games together in future. that was posted on the magic box news page. I am curious of this means somethng. Its very strange for him to say they might work with sony to dev games in the future.
Yeah I think is on gizmodo or kotaku too. Maybe MS is going to merge with sony? or maybe they want to leave the hardware bussines like SEGA did, after all that's what made MS what it is today: the software. On the other side, one-way markets and monopoly sucks, so if MS leaves the scene I hope some other big guy will jump on board to compete against sony.
I think if they leave, nintendo will gain most of its strenght back, but i got more of a feeling theyd get rid of ps3 or say market it twords something else and just focus on the 360. To be honest i dont think ms will leave any time soon, they got quite a bit of money adn bill isn't looking to leave any time soon. Besides sonys dominance in the market is part of what swayed mircosoft. and if you rember it was sega who partnered before the xbox with microsoft on having windows ce support. Honestly that statement is very intresting.
Right now the only thing that mantains sony afloat is the playstation. They have lost the supremacy in the tv and audio depts. If SCE dies, sony dies too. Now the position of MS is quite contradictory: they are bleeding money with the Xbox division so the most sane decision would be to cut down or just eliminate the project. But at the same time they have lost alot in the project to just drop it. Is funny but the only player here that isnt "at the edge" is nintendo.
I honestly hope that what every delays there are, it will give time to fix any bugs that the Ps3 may have on the 1st shipment of consoles.
what the shit? sony doesnt see Ms as a competitor, MS works with Sony, and then nintendo said no one is a competitor to the revolution... all for one and one for all?
