PS3 DEV KITS

I am testing the water here.....

(mods apologies if this should be under 4 sale but not selling anything yet)

I have just picked up from a contact a PS2 TEST and an X-Box Debug for bargain prices.

I was a little sceptical as to his legitimacy but I paid the £ yesterday morning via paypal (paid him an extra few £ to cover the fees) so if they never arrived I was covered.

Arrived at my office this morning via insured delivery all really well packed!

His freind is supposed to own a development company in the UK (where he got the above from).

He has said that he can get PS3 & 360 Dev kits.

I have quizzed him as to why he is interested in selling these but "he" has had them for over a year now and doesn`t want them any more. He hasn`t said if he is getting replacements....the company is folding etc.

I keep trying to tap him for some more details but a little sketchy at the moment. But with the sale/deal I have just made....he seems fairly legit.

He has mentioned a price for the above which I wont mention here but is 4 figures.

I can`t not afford these but I am sure someone here would be interested.

I would be more than happy to assist anyone who has a genuine interest in these. Even if it meant, due to a large sum of money, is for petrol money is collecting with the cash, as I would only do this kind of deal like this. See the goods before passing over the £.

He is on vacation from tomorrow for about 10 days so will get back in contact with me on his return.

Maybe put something up in the "for sale" section now, otherwise you might not get much interest at all. There are a few Japanese and a couple of American collectors who're hardly "tied down by cash", who I've tried to bid against on ebay auctions before, and if they're interested, I'm sure they'd give a few grand for one of these systems.

If I had enough money to buy the ps3 dev, even if I could get a small loan for it, I'd think about it as I have aspirations of making a small games development studio when I finish my education.

Also, if you need any help visiting him, I'd do the trip, provided it's in the UK, just to see the systems alone as it's really up my street. Seeing one of these systems would be a greater thrill than seeing a McLaren F1 for me. Well, nearly, anyway.

the PS2 tool was 25.000 bucks right?

PS3 devkit would probably cost twice as that. If you add the hype Sony is putting on it, it would cost even more.

 

PS3 is at least 30K for the SDK and u can only get the SDK.

 

I have yet to see any pics etc of the kit`s but after the deal I have just done I have no reason to doubt the availabilty of them.

But as stated above I am just testing to see if there is a genuine interest and would assist with any purchases. Even if it meant driving the 200 miles with the cash to purchase the item for someone. As for something like this I, it would be the only way

The guy even called me earlier to check that the test + debug were all working fine!!

Funny that Sony hasn't even finalized the retail hardware, yet, not that I know of.

 

just a little note to whoever is going to buy this (if anyone is considering it). you will need either have access to sonys dev pages or know someone who has access to them or else it might not be so fun to play around with

 

a ps2 or xbox debug is a far a lot different from getting a ps3 dev could be legit but i have my doubts

ps2 test and even tools are floating around in rather huge numbers on the open market where a xbox 360 or even rarer a ps3 would be some kind of miracle but on the other site there was a always a fist time for dev system in the open market why not now ?

 

is there such a thing as a *cheap TOOL* ? if yes, pm me

 

Actually spoke to the guy this morning and he said he hopes to have PS3`s in about 2 weeks......."they come with wireless pad`s" he said

So we will see!!

I'm with you Paulo - suggest you go see these items in the flesh first.

Fair play if you can get them though. He must want a bomb for them though considering how much these things cost.

 

I will be wanting pictures with something really recent in the frame so they are in hand and if I or more likely someone else wants them that I will only collect in person

Because right now they arent exacly available in large quantities and sony is highly likely to be keeping a very tight leash on them.

Also its not like they wouldnt be able to pass these on to another developer if the units are legal?

 

Can they also get PSP kits while they're at it?

I think the going price from sony is around $3k.

 

last time i remember it more in the 6-8k category or was it 10k, someone here posted the first pictures of a psp devkit and did mention also the price for one

on a site note in the german edge magazine theres a article on the ps3 e3 show and it mentions a stack of ps3 units on the site of the stage there where even pictures of them in the magazine, if someone with a scanner could check them out since i dont have one here right now
