How original, a dvd player case?? That's a hell of a lot smaller than the saturn sophia unit sized machine.
wow, that's very very tiny compared to what's under the hood. I m amazed that sony was able to cram all that stuff in there and get away with heat issues. All those ON/OFF switches on the back remind me of a BETA MAX video recorder unit I had , also made by SONY . That's alot of switches, I wonder what they're used for. Any ideas? The inclusion of a PCMCIA card-slot is also interesting, given that the PS2 replaced it with an IDE, and the lack of a FireWire/iLink is also a shame, considering that the Ps3 is a high-end machine, and FW800 is something that would be ideal for networking, video/audio transmition (bilateral), and peripherals. This box also lacks optical out, and a second HDMI?
It looks pretty small, almost the same size that the PS2's. But I wonder if this is real or just a mockup/leak intended by sony to get rid of all those rumors about size and heat issues. After all, they did worse hype campaigns in the past, remember the saddam missile one?:katamari:
PS2 Dual Shock 2? RIP Boomerang! :katamari: I remember reading that the first dev units had major heating problems. It seems they solved the problem...
Copper heatpipes? wouldn't that be too expensive for the consumer version? After all, only high-end GPU's get that...
I think we're looking at the front of the unit, not the back. Perhaps there are ports at the back too, like a traditional unit.
