There are several DS3 circuit boards. This one is mine:

Does anyone have experience repairing DS3 circuit boards? Mine quit working after connecting it to a powered USB 2.0 hub. I just wanted to charge it. I took it apart and noticed U1 gets SUPER hot when connected to the battery. Too hot to touch.

Other DS3 controllers did not break, but also did not successfully charge from the powered USB hub either.

Any ideas as to what component to attempt checking or replacing?

hi kreg , if you don't get an answer here hit up ps3hax forums. I had an issue with one of my PS3 controllers and one member there told me to solder a wire between 2 points and it started working again. Hopefully that member sees your post and can help out

    best of luck
