    Hi,

i like to know how my (FAT 40GB) PS3 handle the Fan.
Is the fanspeed controled over the CPU/RSX temperature?
For example, when i cool the CPU/RSX down without cooling the other components, will the fan turn up?
I plan some cooling mods. I know i have to cool chipset, psu and ram also.
The idea is cooling the CPU/RSX down from external, and leave the PS3 fan and plates for the other components.

    regards
    Chris

I believe it takes temp readings from the die's. CPU has priority. Maybe take a look at the service manual.

Well i finished my watercooling PS3 mod. System is try. But the system shut down when start the ps3. Fan goes up to max. I think they get a wrong temp from the cpu and shut down? Anyone a idea whats going wrong?

    Here is what i did:

its a alphacool block for the ps3. I only cut off the plate above the ps3. Any other components including the fan still inside.
The coolingsystem is a 230V Aquacomputer aquaduct.

Did you try to put original cooling back?

Not the first time. I can see now that the cpu do not cool down. The RSX has 31° cpu more than 80... have to check it -.-
