Hi, does anyone know anything about a Playstation 3 H-Chassis Prototype console? I may be buying some and I'm curious about how rare they are and what they might be worth. The sticker on the front of the console reads: "H-Chassis Prototype CEX (UC)" Thanks!
Is the H-Chassis type already a slim model ? I have an (retail/"fat") F-Chassis type and it was supposedly the first model to use SATA connection to connect the BD drive to the motherboard. Before the F model, apparently all units used parallel ATA ports on the soutbridge chip (and due to that all early models have an Marvell PATA to SATA bridge on their HDD port) and because of being PATA, the BD drive had an quite large/long flat cable...
There are both the fat and slim versions available. I'd have to double check to see if both have the same specs though.
Not at the moment but I'll try to get some. From what I have seen though, the consoles don't look any different than regular PS3 fat and slim models.
Does anyone know about shop/kiosk install package files if its possible to use retail signed homebrew pkgs? Somehow
I dunno what Kiosk has to do with Protos but no, Kiosk is just a neutered retail. Most Protos (DEH) are the same as Debug Kits with a bit different (transluscent) plastic cases.
Heres some pics of the mobo and blu ray drive from a H-Chassis Prototype (CBEH-H2001) I bought mine at a flea market. I read somewhere that the H-Chassis is a redesign of the video cards circuits. If anybody can tell me more about it that would be great.
That look VERY CLOSE to the CECH-25xx series. Perhaps that's the CECH-25xx prototype and the first slim (CECH-20xx) was "G-Chassis" ?
