PS3 reference tool DECR-1000A

DECR-1000A system comes with Antenna, FootSwitch, and manual. Missing the Stand. The current firmware is 2.42. everything is in decent shape. what is the price range for it ?

I'd say up to 3.5k, seems pretty realistic to me, boxed and complete would go for more.

3.5kUSD seems pretty high to me. Just for comparison, there is currently someone on eBay selling 7 systems, all seemingly complete in box with all accessories, for 3.5k each (+ s&h). And they haven't sold a single unit at that price in weeks. So either the market is fully saturated, or the price is too high.

On another note, some time ago, I got a nearly-complete unit (missing one out five[?] power cables and the controller) for way less than 3k, but including S&H. And this was when PS3 was still current gen, with much fewer 1000As in the wild than today.

 

I was thinking between 800-1200 range but I'm not sure. That's why I asked

Would u have also the knowledge to operate this TOOL system? can it also run retail PS1,2,3 disc?

I think going through the manual that uncleJun uploaded will give you a basic understanding on operating the system. At least, that's what i did. I haven't had much time playing with it so I don't know much beside changing couple settings here and there, switching from HDD to BD..etc.

It does play retail PS3 games but not PS2 and PS1. you can find more specs info here

I usually see used PS3 1000s going for around $800-1000 on the secondary market depending on condition and what is included. The newer 1400s usually garner around $1500-$1800 on the secondary market, if they appear for sale. The 1400s are still relatively rare outside of licensed devs. Since the 1000s are the original reference unit and there have been a number of devs that have closed shop over the years, they've made their way to liquidators and the like.
