Before opening it up or paying for a mod, have you blown it out with a can of air?

The older slims run hot my silver scph-70003 runs hot after 1 hour when i got it for about £20 plus then i fitted a duo ultra 3 gold chip and was cool i need to add laser protection could someone recommend what to use.

Console was dirty so clean first and see.

I use my fat ps2 at the moment until this one is fully sorted.

Really theres not enough ventilation on the shell.

Oh sorry i thought you meant ps2 but ps3 mine japan 320 final fantasy runs hot and my red ps3 does again not enough ventilation on the shell all the heat goes to the psu at the back a,

Design flaw that causes the ylod.

Plus that's like this in most of today's electronics happens with washing machine's and Samsung fridge's do that leak and all sorts once we had a new washing michine and leaked everywhere

Broken durm so today workman ship or design is not as good as once was.

Modchips are known to make the early slims run HOT.

Remove the modchip and the darn thing will play a lot less hot.

Anyway you shouldn't be using modchips on the early slims as they're JUST AS BAD as the 5000x series (they're built out of the very same chips as 5000x consoles FYI).

And placebo fixes (Diodes, 5v mod, PIC 12C508 on S!PWM chip pin) won't help you at all.

If it's unmodded and is running too hot, the air vents are clogged or the blower fan isn't working properly.

Also make sure the metal cage has all screws attached.
