So I know the title is kinda long but the situation is I have a customer who brought me this PS3 super slim. He had it diagnosed through another local business that immediately assumed power supply from the moment they turned on the system and it cut off.

He brought it to me as they were trying to charge him the cost of another ps3 to replace the power supply. I got the console and swapped supplies. Bam same problem. You plug in the a/c plug and the red light appears. Press power and you get a green light for just shy of 2 seconds before all power shuts down. I knew the 2nd power supply to be good so now im thinking a short somewhere or bad capacitor, or maybe bad processor? I have not seen this problem with the super slim before so I was hoping its occured elsewhere. I have completely dissembled and system and tested my 5v line and power is going to the board for certain. I just didnt want to mindlessly go over everything as all the caps look good. The factory power supply in it was ADP 160ACR and the supply i swapped to was a APS 330. If there are specific pictures anyone would like to see just ask and ill put them up.

Sounds like you have a problem with the MB not power supply. Maybe someone have a YLOD before, try to fix it and destroy components.
When it starts from red to green im pretty sure there is no voltage problem.
You got some beeps before the unit shut down?

No beeps on shutdown. It beeps when i turn it on, goes green and by 2 seconds in just fades out and power is gone, This made me think short or bad cap on the board and the POST system is aborting. Could be wrong thats why im here. Thanks for the quick reply

I know such effects when the mb is damaged. Unit start, system check and shutdown.

have you tried replacing the hdd? I heard once that the super slim does this when there's a problem with the hdd.

Atomizer, I tried that already, on the super slim when you remove the HDD it should power up to say no available storage device. Sadly that didnt work either, and i did swap it out for a blank just to be safe. I do believe Jackhead may be right, this mobo may be done. The customer very well could have dropped it and not told me. i just didnt wanna give him a bogus diagnoses and not feel sure of myself. Its for sure not passing its POST check.
