I have a PS3 Test and I'm trying to play a retail copy of Modern Warfare 2 online, but every time I try to connect it tells me that "the latest update data for this software has been found" (1.04), and I need to install it before I can play. When I try to install it, the update downloads, but then I get an error message, citing the code 80029567. I appreciate I'm probably being an imbecile here, but I've never tried to play online with the Test before, so don't know if it's even possible (can Test machines even connect to PlayStation Network?). Is there any way at all to get around this problem? If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.
As far as I know, although I've never had access to a TEST, and base it solely on what I've read, the TEST console dosen't have access to PSN. Only some kinda developer pendant to PSN, where devs can play head to head with other devs, testing their games... At least that's what I've read...
You can get on PSN with a Test. You cannot download retail patches to a Test. Ergo, no playing any game online that has been patched. That is your issue. -hl718
I guess because patches are compiled with a different key for retail, which isn't the same key needed for the TEST?
